Looking ahead and forever thinking, I decided that I needed to actively engage you in your own learning. So if you are still wondering why you received an invitation to my "current" blog, I will explain briefly. I have often heard from clients and associates, that our school administrators aren't necessarily up-to-speed with today's technology. In recent conversations, when the topic of Web 2.0 has surfaced, I have noticed looks of confusion and heard low grumblings of discontent. Rumors have begun to circulate that the "district might expect a higher level of performance" actually using some WEB 2.0 tools. Let me dispel this rumor. It is true. We are increasing our expectations; and therefore, I am going to help you develop your skill set. (Remember, ISTE standards for Administrators are coming out this summer.)
On Wednesday afternoon, after the regular staff meeting, we will engage in some simple dialogue and look at possible ways that we might use a couple of WEB 2.0 tools. One will be BLOGS. You will need to ....

OK, OK, I'm trying to figure this out! You are provoking me....I'm on spring break!
ReplyDeleteOh Glorious Day!!! (yes, I know it is Easter...) I finally have a comment. Renee is already there!!
ReplyDeleteGee, I am trying to get there but home internet service is experiencing turbulence!! Consider my response an Easter Miracle! Your "about me" is so "Tucker"! I can't wait to experience Wednesday afternoons' session! Note the significance of my blog name.
ReplyDeleteOK just testing to see if I could find my way back!
ReplyDeleteOK Tucker, you are truly testing me.I am trying to blog you.
ReplyDeleteMr. Tucker did you paste your own image on your blog or use one of the templates?
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! I am pleased to see our participant number increasing. many of you have already figured out that this is a restricted blog, as opposed to a "public" blog. We will talk about that on Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteSome of you early adopters may need to assist your colleagues in getting started. Mr. P, it is my own image. I will make you a balloon animal sometime! ;-)
I did not know that you had gone in the circus business.
ReplyDeleteI am very leery about posting a comment with that profile picture. I have always been uneasy around clowns:)
ReplyDeleteInterestingly enough, many people fear clowns. You never know what is lurking behind the face paint. Clowns have always intrigued me, I think. From a previous era, I recall Emmitt Kelly and Red Skelton as beloved clowns. One was sad and one was "clown-funny". I also recall clown songs through the ages-especially Kathy's Clown and Send in the Clowns. The latter reminds me of many of my colleagues. I could go on...but then it would seem like rambling. I loved the B movie, Clowns From Outer Space. Now that was scary. If I said much more about clowns, then i would have to create a new blog and discuss nothing but the subject of clowns. I would have to manage that blog on CLOWN time and not work time. It is hard to seperate the two when working in a circus.
ReplyDeleteI love "Send in the Clowns" and yes I realize I am a part of the circus - I hate to think which "act" you consider me!!
ReplyDeleteOne must quest the real topic often. Are we commanded or invited? I think we both at the same time... Under the BIG TOP, commands are common. The advertisements outside are inviting. The barker says, " Come on in!" Now, I ask you, is that an invitation or a command?
ReplyDeletehmmm you are really trying to "provoke" thoughts aren't you!
ReplyDeleteI think this is the greatest thing ever. I wish I was as smart as you. When will the sped money starting coming to my 4 students.
ReplyDeleteAre you the new Sugar Daddy of GC?
ReplyDeleteI feel so honored to be in the midst of so much power and intelligence! :) It's good to see administrators setting the stage for the rest of us in using technology! Way to go!!
ReplyDeleteUncle LT: Great blog. I am actually considering a PhD in Adult Learning and one of the subjects of great interest is using web 2.0 applications in the learning process. Adults learn by A. Interacting with other adults and B. Reflecting on experiences he or she might have. Using a blog is a great way to reflect on our own learning and to interact with other adults.
ReplyDeleteIke
I also have an irrationale fear of clowns which was developed during the release of the Stephen King movie IT. Interestingly enough that movie also features spiders which I am also afraid to be around. They are more than welcome to live in my backyard, just not in my house.
